i take greyhound pretty regularly, 4-5 times a year, and should know by now that its never a good trip. from poor customer service to filthy buses, broken outlets on the bus and no wifi (even though it says theres wifi).
this time i bought the upgraded economy extra ticket, cost $20 extra but i get priority boarding so i dont have to wait in line and can get a seat near the front. they do not call out priority boarding to board first, you have to just push your way to the front of the line while apologizing to other customers and explaining that you paid for priority boarding, which they wont like. i have purchased economy extra before, and when i tried to board they told me "we dont do that here" and sent me to the back of the line. i had to share a seat near the toilet even tho i had paid $20 extra for my ticket specifically so i wouldnt have to do that.
today i asked while boarding "is there a seperate line for priority boarding or anything?" and the driver said "sir just get on the bus." in a tone that i knew meant that if i said anything else she wouldnt let me on. ive seen people get kicked off and left behind at a stop in the middle of nowhere because they talked back to the driver who was being very rude, so i kept my mouth shut and got on the bus. there is a large lump in the lumbar area of my seat and the outlet doesnt work. im using the last of my battery to post this.
take amtrak. its slower but you will be much more comfortable and will be treated as a customer should.
also, this bus is shaking so violently, (for two hours now) that i might throw up. only 7 more hours to go .
