Le Club Chasse et Peche is hidden in plain sight in Old Montreal like a speakeasy that houses fantastic cuisine. The inside is lovely, elegant, and romantic with dim lighting and intimate seating.
Service was excellent from the host with the magnificent beard to the waitstaff. We felt at ease and quite comfortable in this fancy setting.
We started the night with a glass of wine for the hubby and a spicy bloody Caesar. The appetizers we got were absolutely amazing.
Braised piglet risotto with foie gras shavings( $17)
Decadent goodness that melt in your mouth. Up to now his is the best risotto I ever had. The pork was very tender and savory.
Himachi tartare, niçoise, olives, cherry tomatoes($ 20)
Fresh, light, and flavorful. It comes with a yummy crispy wonton that you have to budget with each bite so that you can make it last as long as possible.
Lamb ribs ($69)
We opted for the special of the night, the lamb ribs. We asked to share the plate and they portioned the meal into two plates for us. And of course, like everything else we experienced in the restaurant the lamb was spectacular. Juicy and wonderful.
I made reservations easily through opentable weeks in advance. However, its important to note that they need a confirmation by 5pm on the day of the reservation. So for the traveler without a working mobile remember to call from your hotel room or have he concierge make the confirmation and not run around Old Montreal looking for a pay phone to confirm your reservations.
