We purchased a Certified Mercedes a few months ago (April 2017). Let's just say the experience was not the best. The sales person wanted all the paperwork filled out and to financing before he would even let me see the car even though I asked many times. Then I had to keep asking over and over again to test drive it.
Well let's get to the deception.... The car advertised was not the same car we were shown or purchased (the one advertised and the one we bought are both white, same interior, exterior, hard to tell them apart until.....). The car advertised was advertised as Certified. After we purchased the "other" car it was then scheduled for certification, it even needed new tires which then had to be ordered. One would think they would have tires in the shop for a common C250. How can one advertise as Certified when it wasn't? It took three days to finally get the car. We took it home and it had a vibration so I scheduled to take it in to have it checked out. Come to find out it was a bad wheel that needed to be replaced. They then tried to blame me for hitting a curb and damaging the rim. That didn't happen and I REFUSED to pay for it.
I had downloaded all the pictures of the car that was advertised. About a week or so later we keep looking at those pictures and then at the car we had sitting in the garage and they are not the same car. We then started noticing that our certified new car had a lot of paint dings in it and the front bumper had a lot of surface damage from running it up onto curbs. The car in the photo doesn't show this and would have been obvious if it were actually the car we bought. The advertised car showed it with navigation and the first thing I noticed in the "other" car was the navigation was not working. It was pre-wired for a navigation module that slides into a sleeve in the glovebox but it was missing. My guess is it never had one to begin with but the car they advertised online did. If I hadn't kept asking about that over and over again I believe they would have tried to get away without supplying with what was advertised, which again was not the same car we bought.
We like the car that we do have, but feel "scammed" by the "bait and switch" tactic that Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale used.
Overall it was a poor experience and each time I went to the dealership I had to drive at least an hour, usually more with traffic. I have it serviced at another Mercedes Dealership that I have been very happy with over the years.
I am ready to share this with the FTC and BBB. So unprofessional....
