  • Good beer. Very good beer. If you've never been to the Great Dane, try the sampler. I like the Crop Circle Wheat or the Scotch Ale, but I've never had a bad Great Dane beer. They have three locations throughout Madison and a mini pub at the airport. All follow the upscale English pub model, and all feature their own brands of beer. I think the first location off the Square is the best. Yes, it's popular amongst students and professionals alike; so avoid it like the plague on Friday or Saturday nights.
