  • Oh dear. Joel, I really should have read your review in detail before getting my business cards printed at Staples this time around. You are a wise man. After changing the name of my little vegan cooking project that could, I decided I was in the market for some new business cards the next time people wanted to know what my website was called. I really wasn't in the mood to hand out my old ones that I printed myself and explain the name change, etc. Browsing online for some quick options, I finally decided I wanted a double sided card, and would design the template myself. Staples was one of the only options where I could do this, and physically pick them up instead of waiting for them in the mail like my little brother did with his. So, I upload my template and design, and get an email in my inbox saying that typically these documents take 3-5 business days tops to be processed, and I would receive an email once they were completed. I had wanted to pick them up at the Market Mall location, but had a couple questions. All week, I tried calling this location's copy center, and not once did I get through. Seriously, I called at various times of the day. Finally, I got through to them a week and a half later, only to find out that "their processing machine broke." Really? No phone call or email notification to let customers know that orders would be backed up a little bit? Never mind the fact that I couldn't have possibly found out on my own, because no one picks up the fucking phone there. Finally, my cards arrived in store and I could pick them up. I like the design, because I made it. However, I feel almost as though with a high quality printer I could have processed them better at home. Luckily, it only cost me about $20 for 250 double sided cards, so I didn't break the bank ordering these guys. However, I won't be visiting these losers again. *Review 20/30 of Yelp's 30 day challenge Also, has anyone ever read The Gum Thief by Douglas Coupland? The only interaction with Staples worth having. *Review 16/30 for Yelp's 30 day challenge 2012
