This is a nice little store for Mexican groceries. Before the neighborhood's demographics changed, this was a gabacho grocery, either Albertsons or Smiths.
On this outing we picked up bistec, queso fresco, fresh salsa, and pan dulce for a nice breakfast. In the parking lot, we snagged some tasty home-cooked hot tamales for $10 a dozen. The tamale vendor of course was an unauthorized peddlar who sold her goods out of a minivan. Hope I don't get sick.
My only complaint is the stun tunes. The soundtrack is worn out American oldies. They sound horrible over the $5 speakers. I guess the Hispanic folks are tired of their own music.
King Market is a happy place to visit. You'll be greeted with smiles and cheerfulness.
