| - Walking in on a Wednesday early afternoon, we skipped having to wait in line and were able to order quickly. The menu's really extensive with loads of options to choose from - it took us a few minutes of narrowing down our options to decide. The service is friendly and orders might take a bit of a while to get to you (depending on what you get) but that's because the designs are pretty elaborate.
After debating, we got:
Funnel Cake Mutant Shake ($13.99 - $15.80 with tax and an additional $5 deposit for the glass mug) - definitely pricey but if you're going here for your first time, might as well go big or go home, right? The shake was strawberry-flavoured and came with a small strawberry funnel cake (made fresh) balanced on top of the mug using a standard small paper plate. The funnel cake came with its own tower of vanilla soft serve drizzled with strawberry sauce and strawberries so if you get this one, prepare yourself for a ton of ice cream - you have to drink the strawberry shake and also somehow finish the vanilla mound on the funnel cake. It's a lot for one person - definitely get this with a friend (or two). I had this for myself and it took me so long to finish it. The shake itself is pretty good and the funnel cake reminds me of Canada's Wonderland funnel cakes. In the end, I think the vanilla ice cream plus the strawberry shake was a bit too much ice cream for me - if this was smaller, I would have enjoyed it as a single serving but I think the desserts here are made for sharing.
Twist (chocolate & vanilla) soft serve with chocolate cheesecake in a regular cup. This one was amazing. The twist is covered all around with a layer of cheesecake bits and then topped with graham crumble and a chocolate drizzle. Each bite with cheesecake was so so so good - the cheesecake was creamy, and combined with ice cream, made each bite melt-in-your-mouth good. It was the best incorporation of cheesecake I've tasted in ice cream. Caution: a regular cup is huge - my friend couldn't finish it but we both loved it a lot. If you're on your own getting ice cream in a cup, the small size would be perfectly fine.
I'd come back just for the cheesecake ice cream but to also try the other crazy combinations - the other shakes with desserts (cakes, donuts, etc.) look like a good combination of drink + food albeit really sugary. I recommend coming here to share dessert because we definitely had to choose a walk over the streetcar to settle our stomachs.
