On April 13th I ordered Quartz counter tops for my Kitchen from Kim (very nice lady) she in turn hired The French Quarry for installation, Two young men came to do the installation every thing went fine as they cut the quartz outside., when they came in they said it would smell a bit as the glue has an odor so I might want to turn the fan on, shut off the A/C and open the doors. which I did, when they were done I turned the A/C back on & closed the doors. They then went back outside to get another slab of Quartz when they came in they said it would be noisy as they had to cut it inside for the sink to fit. They both had on goggles, face masks & ear protection, never once did they tell me to protect myself, shut of the A/C and fans. The mess they left was unreal I had Silica dust in every room including the ducts. I called Home Depot and was told not their fault as The French Quarry did the work. Excuse me if Home Depot hired them it is their fault. I called French Quarry spoke to Dieter he said i should have known to cover every thing I didn't want dusty and I should have known to turn of the A/C & Fans, he said if I would have gone on the internet I would have known these things, but If I send him some pictures of the damage he might consider helping with expenses. I did that via e-mail and got no response. I had to have my Ducts and house professionally cleaned at some expense.
On June 22 I called Kim at Home Depot she was very understanding and said she will call Dieter at French Quarry and also have Harold who she said was the Big Boss call me within a few days or so. So far no calls,
I am so tired of this nonsense it seems no one at Home Depot or French Quarry care about customer service. I am 79 years old and live on SS. I can't afford this kind of stress. Home Depot has lost my business.
