  • It was hard to decide what to rate South Hills Dental Arts as they have had several dentists over the past years and they have varied. I am a carry over from when it was Ingram Family Dentistry. At one point there was an older gentleman dentist and a young gentleman and I didn't care for either of them. I thought about leaving when they were there as service lacked. However, I stayed. Dr. Johnson then came along. Dr. Johnson has added a level of professionalism to the practice and she does excellent work. They also lost a long time dental hygienist about two years ago and have had a few since then. Darcy is now in that position and is thorough and reliable. There is now Dr. Johnson, Dr Lopez and Dr. Yousef. I have not had any work done by Dr. Lopez but during my regular cleanings she is professional and thorough. I wouldn't bat an eye if she was schedule to perform a procedure on me. Today, I had Dr. Yousef for a preventative procedure that Dr. Lopez suggested the day before (fast turn around for appointments a plus). I will not be having Dr. Yousef perform anything else on me. She didn't introduce herself to start with, I had to ask her her name. Her "bed side manner" is just a little odd compared to other dentists I've experienced. She also kept asking me my thoughts on the amount of novocaine I received if she should give me more etc. I finally asked her what her thoughts were as she is the professional not me. Prior to even starting the procedure there was some disconnect on what Dr. Lopez and I spoke about the day before and the procedure. Finally, Darcy who was in the room yesterday came in and explained what Dr. Lopez had explained. Obviously, I don't know who is at fault for this but it was a very uneasy experience and didn't give me much confidence going in to having my mouth numbed up. Going forward I will be requesting specific dentists and working my schedule around that. I did share some of my thoughts with the young lady at the desk on my way out regarding today's experience. Speaking to other aspects of the practice, they seem to be very proactive with new technology to assist them with all dental needs. They now have a cancer screening option and have introduced two different X-Ray angles since my x-rays last year. They can produce crowns in office the same day so you have one appointment instead of two. My appointment has ALWAYS been on time. They work with you on appointment times as best they can. The front desk staff is always friendly and knowledgeable with billing questions and any other inquiries.
