  • This place is great. Twenty minutes of smooth walking, in gravel, until you reach a cooler, placed in memory of someone passing away. When people are done hiking, they leave their extra water bottles or anything they didn't use for the next hikers if they are in need. I thought this was awesome. Once passed the cooler, you start to climb some small easy doable boulders. Once you've reached the first rope, then it's all fun from there. I think I went down 5 rope, very doable if you take your time. It's easy as you are hiking at a downward elevation. Hardest part for me was reaching the lake (end of trail) and climbing the side of the mountain because I did not want to walk in the water like everyone else. I hate walking around in wet socks. Since I'm not a rock climber, going up was easy but coming down I had a moment of "hmmm...if I slip right now, I'm going to break a few things..." Hiking back is a little tougher at an upward elevation and climbing up the ropes rather than down. This was my first time and I would definitely do it again. Tips: I go to the gym 4 times a week. I needed 3-4 16oz bottles of water to be comfortably hydrated. Others my need less or more. My girl brought a 2L hydration back pack which was almost finished at the end. If you are not an expert hiker, wear something that will protect your legs. I had to rest my knees on the boulders a few times but my shorts went a bit passed my knees so it was okay. When I was done I saw girls hike in with short booty shorts and thought to myself "they are in for an unpleasant surprise..." I wore my workout gloves which helped with the climbing. I would recommend gloves, but not needed. Bring a protein bar or something to eat at end trail then hike back. Sunglass and hat when the sun in up. I wore a tank hiking down, but wore a thin long sleeve climbing up. Didn't want to F up my tattoo sleeves. Water proof Hiking shoes. Many first timer girls with nike free runs that needed assistance to get up or down climbs or hurt themselves. A small towel but not needed. That's it!
