  • Horror on Park Avenue! Don't be lured by the low prices you see on the internet. Those prices don't include the daily parking fee of $15 or the $35 "resort fee". Oh, and if you opt to get the "free buffet", it isn't at NY NY, as the hotel does not have a buffet on their property -- you must walk accross the street to either Excalibur or MGM to use you coupon. If you have your mind set on staying there after reading all of the reviews, here are a few tips you'll certainly need to save you a bit of disappointment and frustration. Important Tip #1:. Use mobile check-in to avoid the long lines. It's pretty simple to use (www.newyorknewyork.com/en/hotel/checkin.html). Important Tip #2: Make sure your room is away from the rollercoaster unless you want to hear the screaming from the people riding the roller coaster every 15 minutes. Also the rooms are numbered xx01 to xx40, meaning if you're in 601 or 2901, you're the furthest from the elevator and if you're in 640 or 2940 the elevator is nearby. We were originally placed in 603 and I'm not exaggerating, it's was a 4-minute hike back and forth. The rooms are okay, but in bad need of an update. Our room had dirty carpeting, stains on the arm chairs and dirty linens (two stains on the bed pillows). Here's important tip #3: when you leave your room, double check to make sure your key works. Seriously, we had to get our key re-activated 4, yup FOUR times over a 3-day stay. Also, your parking pass in/out is also your room key and if it becomes deactivated you can't get out (or back in). Of course the people lined up behind you become pretty agitated. The hotel has Nathan's Coney Island style hot dogs and several other knockoffs of things you might still find in New York City. There are several better options in Las Vegas just take time to read the reviews before you book your reservation and you will do okay. Good luck!
