| - I recently came to Topgolf after an invite from a work friend. I have heard lots about it, but never have been to any location. I will break it down as best I can, but this is again coming from a weekend night, Friday, around 7:30pm. So take anything I say with this in mind...
Location: I went to the Gilbert location located off Higley. It's big, beautiful, and easily spotted by the giant net. It's also conveniently located right next to the big entertainment place that has bowling and etc.
Inside Service: Now this is where things get really out of control. There was nobody in the front to help you. We didn't know you had to initially sign up for a Players Card, which is a $5 dollar charge. Then you have to sign in and wait for your name or phone to be texted so you can get a lane. You can try to reserve online, but there's a fee that isn't included in the price. Otherwise inside the bar it's first come first serve. This can get pretty out of control, we had to try and flag someone down. It seemed as if nobody really knew what was happening.
Lane: Obviously this is their bread and butter. The lanes are really well maintained, and I love the variety of games they offer. The clubs were in great condition, and the TV's were a really nice touch. I like how they also had AD's on the game screen. Makes sense I guess.
Food: I was honestly shocked by how well the food was prepared and served. We ordered a bunch of different apps, and it was well worth it. I think they should reduce prices slightly since the price per hour on the lanes can be steep. Regardless, you have to try the different food items, hopefully if we come back we will get an entrée.
Pricing: This is where things can add up fast. Obviously there is a hourly charge. This varies depending on the day and time, with the weekend charges almost doubling the weekday. I understand there is a business and money is to be had, but man... $45 a hour, so if you do come, bring a group so you don't pay as much. Otherwise, I will be only going during the weekdays from now on.
Overall: I think this place is great if you have the funds to come over and over again. It's nice to have a relaxing golf range that isn't all about pro's. I really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the friends we were with. I think we will only go during the day from now on, but this is personal preference. You do have to go at night though, the lights on the lanes are something really fun.
