I've had Ethiopian food a couple times and while it is not my favorite this seems to be a good example. It is worth coming for a different experience.
Favorites - worth coming for the pumpkin soup alone - creamy yet thin enough to pour off the spoon with an amazing mix of spice and sourness of lime or some unusual spice and the bowl was huge. The tea was very good and came with refills - a mix of sweet spices and served deliciously with honey, would serve as a light dessert.
Entrees come either with injera a sour-ish spongy thin flatbread to be used as eating utensil or - by request - a mound of white rice and forks. I had 4 vegetarian choices - chard/cheese which was good had no sauce, the beets tasted like beets, the cabbage tasted like cabbage, the lentils were nice and spicy. In the future I'd choose more spicy options as the non-spicy options tasted bland and maybe needed some salt. Also on the table were 4 meat options - I preferred the spicier choices again, these tasted a bit like Indian to me, overall these were more flavorful to me. The meat is a bit chewy - the beef more so than the chicken. The non-spicy drumstick option came with a really good sauce.
Atmosphere and service were very nice and relaxing with lovely African art on the walls.
