| - In most cases, I am able to keep a pretty good handle on my sweet tooth.
Then a place like Sweet Moses comes along and I realize that I have little to no control when the quality of sugary goodness exceeds the usual run of the mill tooth rot.
The interior is beautiful, almost majestic -high ceilings, mirrors refurbished marble countertops and fixtures, yet the antique (or antique looking) incandescent bulbs shine a warm yellow glow that makes you feel like you've stepped into a time machine.
The offerings include chocolates, caramel corn, ice cream, sodas, phosphates, and in an interesting twist, peanut butter sandwiches with a variety of sweet and crunchy toppings.
On this visit, we tried a Gordon Square brownie sundae and the Caramel Corn with chocolate and nuts and both were superlatively good. This is top notch stuff, and though it's a little but pricier than some of the other hometown ice cream favorites, I would venture to say that it's worth it.
The only complaint I have is that the stools at the counter in the main room are refurbished vintage pieces that are bolted to the floor a vintage distance from the counter. This doesn't exactly lend itself to a comfortable seat if you have modern-sized femurs, so if you're taller you may want to sit down at one of the tables.
I have a feeling that once the weather warms up, Sweet Moses will be packed at all times, but I can assure you, the wait will be worth it.
