Arizona Helping Hands is a nonprofit organization that is doing great work. It's taken me a while to get a sense of all their different programs. They are best known for their annual Christmas toy drive, but I think some of their most important work involves year around programs for foster children. They maintain a warehouse at this address where foster parents can pick up free clothing, toys and supplies for the children. They also do birthday gift bags for foster kids. Another program involves the purchase and distribution of twin beds and baby cribs for foster kids. Also backpacks and school supplies. They seem to identify needs and then find ways to fill them.
They will accept donations in kind (why we recently visited) and in cash (in person or through their web site). They are a 503(c) organization, so your donations will be tax deductible. They are also Arizona tax credit eligible.
