I have a 2013 Nissan leaf. Recently in the mail I received a letter stating that the TCU unit in my leaf that utilizes the 2G network effectively becomes inoperable at the beginning of this year. Fortunately the letter offers the service of an upgraded 3G TCU unit at a price of $199. I would like to take this offer up. However when I contacted this dealership .The service rep told me that he would need to hold the car for "a couple of days." This seems unacceptable as the letter states the procedure should not take more than a few hours. I do use this vehicle to commute back and forth to work. Leaving the car at the dealership for two days for what should be a much shorter period is not possible. I asked if the week end was possible and was told "we only have 1 leaf mechanic and he does not work the week ends." No other alternatives were provided to me via the service rep. I would like to get this upgrade but am finding it difficult to coordinate this through the dealership.
