| - Remember when you were a kid and you'd go to the bank with your parents and the teller would give you candy because you didn't scream like a banshee while waiting in line for 15 minutes? Well, if you take your kid to this particular bank, the kid won't have time to scream; there's literally no lines. Ever.
That's what I like about this bank - they have their stuff together and whip people in and out in a quick minute. I doubt I've ever been in there longer than 15 minutes, except the time I opened the account. It helps that it's relatively close to my house.
The tellers are friendly and actually remember what I do for my paychecks. It's a bit weird when there's actual customer service (aka, they remember who you are) because, well, there's not a lot of that these days.
This isn't an ING account so you're going to get basically nothing in interest, but the account works fine for checking. I love that I had the option to NOT have over drafting (it will just automatically decline the transaction) which I don't think I was ever asked when I used to bank with Washington Mutual/Chase. I've never spent so low that I'm in fear of over drafting, but I think it's a really great feature that they offer and I like that I opted to have my transaction automatically decline should that happen.
I'm happy with the bank, the only thing I really dislike is that I signed up to not get statements in the mail to save on paper, and I still get loan, credit card and air line mile ads from them - defeating the point of saving paper.
Overall, I like US Bank and will stay with them for checking, and put savings into silver (aka, not into a bank account.)
