I have to update my review from last time I was there. I went this time hoping for a great experience again. The staff was friendly, clean place, but I left disappointed.
I asked for a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure polish change. The girl I got was nice/sweet but I was questioning her professionalism and general hygiene practice. First, she never used gloves when touching my feet - the other esthetician beside her who was also doing a pedicure, did. Then we started doing my shellac pedicure. Two things, she started touching my hands without washing her hands from touching my feet (I was coming straight from work which means I was in my shoes ALL day and it was just a polish change). I had to ask her to sanitize her hands myself. I think she felt embarrassed but it's her job to know and in general, be properly trained. She took too long to take off my old shellac. This place doesn't have a machine that shaves it off - I always have this done because it's fast and I don't end up sitting for 20 minutes waiting for the acetone to work - which is again, not very healthy.
She finally got it off. She did not take off my excess cuticles. I had to ask her a few times to take off more, I had some nails where it looked like it wasn't touched. By the way, they charge different prices for shellac brands - OPI is more expensive than CDN. I have never heard of a salon doing it. My manicure was ok, it wasn't perfect; there was one nail where the color did not completely cover the side.
My toes were a different story. I stayed under that nail dryer for a good twenty minutes and still managed to get my toe completely ruined. I had to return to that place the next day and I STILL got my toe ruined. I paid around $66 with tip. The entire experience and job is worth $30. I am wondering if any of the people have had proper practices or they just walk off the street and get hired.
I won't be returning to this salon again.
