| - I came here last week with a friend for her co-workers birthday. I'm up for new things, but this is just beyond the strangest place.
To be honest, I felt really uncomfortable. Friends told me to wear something with more skin showing. Honestly, I was told my outfit was too conservative and thus I was dressed in a halter top with jeans. I normally don't wear clothes like this(and by "this" I mean the halter top) but since I'm from out of town I figured why the hell not. When I met up with my friend I was greeted by the security guard who kept questioning me on my age and birthday to see if I was actually what it says I am on my drivers license. He said he was just playing, but then he started asking his other security buddy how old he thinks I am. Yes, I am fully aware I look young for my age.. I GET IT!
We enter the club and my friend and I decided to get drinks, of course. My friend and I waited for someone to serve us for about 5 minutes. It wasn't even busy and yet the bartenders just looked at us and didn't ask if we needed help. Once we finally had to walk around the bar to get a bartenders attention I ordered a cranberry and vodka and the bartender laughed and said: "you mean, vodka and cran?.. ha" Sorry, but I'm pretty sure there's two ingredients... just because you say it one way here in Alberta doesn't mean the ingredients are going to change.
The DJ that night was a YIKES! You don't mix Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" with country music and not make the beat flow properly. Just no! The music was weird. People were swing dancing, slow dancing, ballroom dancing.. I don't know.. IT WAS ODD! I started line dancing, but everyone felt like flipping girls in the air. Till this day I am still confused. The crowd is really young. I never felt so old. And let me tell you, just because I look young doesn't mean I feel young.
Don't plan on going to the nightclub again, I'll stick with the casino though.
