I work nearby so the co-op has become a regular stop on the way home. But, as a former east side shopper, let me just say that this location blows East right out of the water.
Beautiful produce is organic, local and harvested by little fair-trade goblins. Much better selection than East. Grocery aisles full of delicious goodies that I probably shouldn't purchase (but probably will). And alcohol! Hey East, I know you have that "agreement" with Star Liquor but I'd rather make one stop rather than two. Hint, hint. ;)
I'm seriously confused by all of the cashier hate. I've gotten wonderful service every time I've stopped in at West. Cashiers will go above and beyond here--they'll bag for you, they'll help you find something you're looking for, they'll bring your groceries to your car if you have a broken arm in December (hint: that was me). I HAVE seen some pretty terrible customer behavior towards cashiers, though. Maybe don't dump your groceries out after they've been bagged and demand that they're repacked RIGHT NOW. I'm talking to you, Miss Real Housewife of Middleton.
Anyway, this place is awesome and I might as well sign my paycheck over to them.
