  • Avoid aggravation, stay elsewhere. The good: Spacious, modern rooms Delicious Saturday lunch Indian buffet The bad: All rooms have lovely views...of a junk yard Waiters at restaurant incredibly slow Most importantly, this is an airport hotel. Core function is to provide rapid and convenient transfers to and from the airport. The people running this place seem to have missed that. On arrival told that "just call when ready" and shuttle would be there in "less than 10 minutes". Ended up waiting 40 minutes in that Calgary cold. Ok, can overlook this, maybe a one time thing. When departing, discovered that there is only one shuttle per hour, on the hour. Fine. Inconvenient but workable. Woke up early. Down in the lobby 5 minutes before shuttle to leave. Loaded up and set to go on time...except we didn't. Had to wait 15 minutes for some family to get their act together. Finally off to the airport at 5:15am. Duty manager at the hotel calls. Shuttle TURNS AROUND en route to pick up a tardy couple. Expressed my annoyance to the driver and the duty manager. Told to call an operations manager, nothing they could do. Anyway, 35 minute trip to YYC from airport that markets itself as being only 5 minutes away. Spare yourself early morning aggravation and stay elsewhere.
