| - I called these guys on a Sunday when a lower level toilet was plugged. They came out quickly, which was great. The guy was polite enough, looked around the house for about 5 minutes, no tools or anything, and quickly assessed that the repair would cost $2400 for a new pump. I questioned how he could possibly know without testing anything, all he could say was "it's not turning on, you need a new pump"
After more discussion, he called his boss who confidently assured me that we need a new pump. I again asked how he could possibly know this from over the phone?! His response was "I've been in business for 27 years, I know you need a new pump"
I'm not one to drop $2400 without a second opinion, especially since I live in a pretty new home, so I called my handyman, who luckily was free. The first thing he pointed out was the price of a good quality comparable pump is less than $1000.00 I thought great, I can save over half of what they quoted me. He came out, put some water in the basin, which fired everything right back up, tested over 50 times, and it's been working perfectly since then. Total cost? A few dollars for my handymans time.
The service guy had obviously no experience with the type of house we were in, and the obvious attempt to cash in on a Sunday by his boss, when most places are closed is pretty disgusting. Don't ask me to call you to rectify this, I've wasted enough time on this and will not be doing that. If you feel the need to make this right (which you should) go ahead and refund my card for the useless service call that was a big waste of my time, energy and money.
