| - My goal for this review is to share the positive and the negative with this particular location. I have no idea if services are similar in other locations though reviews are both warm and cold.
On a positive note, this location had recently rebuilt the front lobby which was sorely needed. The new floor and paint made a world of difference while also making the lobby more comfortable. In addition, the girls that work there (the two I have run into each time) are very sweet and do a very good job. Getting blood from one of my veins is always a challenge and they are one of the very few that have been able to get the job done with little or no issue. One bonus, you can make an appointment via web site which also provides locations and more.
Now the negative, the rear of the lab is still pretty atrocious. There is very little organization, the restroom is frankly, disgusting and does not support proper procedures for handling bathroom type samples. Second issue, every time I came in for diagnostic procedures (probably 10x or more), there is only one of the girls working the entire office. That means one person to sign patients in, gather lab orders, insurance, deliveries, perform the actual procedures (blood draw, etc), document orders and provide instructions. I'm sure there are more but those are just what I have witnessed while being there. Third, while you can make an appointment, very rarely does that seem to be taken into account as I have made appointments and was still waiting from 20 to 40 minutes AFTER the appointed time. This morning was the first time the appointment was adhered to and got me in before the walk-ins.
While waiting in the lobby, there were several senior folks waiting to which I overheard their discussions. I heard variations of "this is ridiculous", and "SonoraQuest isn't like this. There I get in right away and everything is organized". (past experience has shown this to be true)
Again, this is, by far, not the fault of the girls in the office. I think they just want to do a good job. My complaint is who allows this office to be run this way? One person handling the busiest time of day? Who was or is responsible for the state of the restroom? All that aside, I probably would have continued except for the results I received from my last visit (March 01, 2013). The results were missing some important tests and the results provided did not seem accurate.
Due to my insurance coverage, I am required to use LabCorp though I am reviewing other options like out-of-network benefits and such. I may also try another location just to see how it goes though this one is closest to work. I did report the findings to my insurance carrier and their response was "send a letter to the corporate office".
