I'd like to contribute high praise for Advanced Fertility Care from the perspective of a patient who did not succeed in IVF. After several months of IUI treatments in Tucson, I decided to go to Advanced Fertility Care to seek treatment from Dr. Larsen (based partly on reviews here and elsewhere.) My experience with Dr. Larsen and AFC generally was great-- caring in all the right ways, but also honest. Dr. Larsen prepared me for a low chance of success given that I was coming in with signs of low ovarian reserve. When the IVF drugs failed to stimulate my ovaries (twice), he advised me that it wasn't worth the time, energy, and money to try again. This is news that patients don't want to hear, of course, but it's also the right advice. AFC's refund policies for people like me that don't make it to extraction are very generous-- my only significant costs were the drugs. So I feel that I got the best possible care given my biological situation: I was able to explore the (very small) chance of being able to conceive with my own eggs without wasting money, and without irresponsible encouragement from the clinic. As time has passed, it has become obvious that Dr. Larsen's advice was the right call.
Those of you reading these reviews are probably quite frightened at the prospect of not being able to conceive after trying everything. I can say from experience that even if you wind up in that small fraction of women in child-bearing years who cannot conceive, Advanced Fertility Care is the right clinic to make sure you optimize your chances without wasting time and energy.
