  • I went in With two goals, zero % financing or a low rate. They did have the lowest internet pricing for the vehicle i was looking for. (Here are a few tips i learned you should employ: never tell them what you are comfortable paying. Also when you get to the financing person start off by saying i dont want your opinions nor do i want your recommendations.) When i first arrived i told the sales associate i only wanted to see if i qualify for the zero % financing. We had to pick a car because it would be based on the one we chose. We did, then we went inside. We then filled out an application to see if we qualify. They asked me what i feel comfortable paying. What do you know. They brought me an estimate with my comfortable payment amount. I kept on asking to see a contract. Eventually they were able to offer a 1.9 interest rate. Well with Bankruptcy in my background i thought that sounds good.... Then they send you to the back. The person seemed professional at first. Then we did the calculations based on 1.9 and it did not add up. I saw all the fees Doc fee, title, taxes, mandatory alarm system. Then i saw all the rebates. It was very hard to consintrate because the rep would not shut up. Finally i had enough. I told the rep we were only shopping around and thanks. All of a suden the rep said if i wanted to find out if i qualify for the zero percent. Wow , i was told i did not qualify already and all of a sudden they are asking if i want to find out. Well sure enough my app was put through to ford credit and i did get the 0% financing. Such a headache, dealling with rudeness. And the feeling of being humiliated. Yes humiliated. The rep made me feel like i was stupid. I being a very secure person, knowing the finance world felt like i did not know what to do at one point. At the end here is what i learned from my first new car experience. ( i've always bought used) They try to confuse you. They try to sell you thing you dont need For example: my situation: tell you your very brain dead if you dont get gap insurance. I personally am able to pay the whole vehicle off if something like that happens. They try to sell very expensive extra warranty. Ford already covers you for the first 3 years bumper to bumper and 5 years engine and transmission ( or mileage limitations wich ever come first) I did not see myself giving them 3458 to be exact when ford already has you covered. I just purchased a 1200 policy for a vehicle that is out of coverage for an additionl 5 years. That makes sense to me. They ran my credit like 8 times, 7 for the other banks and the last one was for Ford credit. Overall if you need a car dealerships must be used. I wish more direct sales could be made like Tesla. Good advice. If you know what finance company you want tell them they only have permission to put your application through them. Tell them you have a tracking on you credit and will pursue damages if they dont comply. At the end i am happy i got what i wanted I just really had a sh!ty experience.
