I was visiting my friend George (an awesome and needy labroador [sp]) in Madison, plus their owners Ann and Paul. First place we went was Jacs, which I'd never actually eaten at before. (Closest occurred last summer when I went with Paul, but then he decided I should try another restaurant, and so we left Jacs and went there and told them we would come back but we didn't.)
Jacs is quality gastropub type food. I had the burger, and it was delicious, just a few notches below Minetta Tavern (gold standard for non-California burgers). Fries were decent, too, and the atmosphere is non-rushed and relaxed. You can take your time.
I wonder if there is a real Jac who doesn't spell his name with a K or what.
