| - I've been to St. Francis twice now, the my more recent experience weighing heavier in the reason for my 2 star review.
My first experience with St. Francis was nothing to write home about, they were overcrowded on a Saturday night so my friend and I sat at the bar (where you think you'd get good drink service) however, they ran out of both iced tea and lemonade after drinking one Arnold palmer. The bartender then ignored us most of the night because neither of us had ordered alcohol.
More recently, I visited St. Francis again (I'll try anything twice) for Arizona Restaurant Week 2015. The menu looked great, but was a let down. The first course, I had the Parmesan Risotto, while my two friends each got the Wood Roasted Peaches. Neither friends liked the salad mixture that came with the peaches. I did enjoy the risotto, however price relative to portion, I was disappointed.
Next up I had the Sea Scallops, it's pretty hard to mess up scallops, and I was feeling some seafood that night. Both friends of mine had ordered the Wood Roasted Pork Loin, which they enjoyed although it looked like something that came out of a TV dinner. When they brought out the scallops I was immediately disappointed to see how small the entrée was. It had 3 dime sized scallops on it which were dry and had very little flavor.
Lastly, the desserts, we had gotten two Strawberry Shortcakes and one Sticky Toffee Pudding. The shortcake was another disappointment, there was approximately 1-2 strawberries sliced up next to a dinner biscuit with sugar on it. There was very little sauce and the bread was incredibly hard without the strawberry syrup to soften it. I did not taste the Toffee Pudding, although the two friends who did thought it was mediocre at best.
Overall I was very disappointed with this restaurant and will not be returning in the foreseeable future. Much better quality food can be found elsewhere, and with a cheaper price tag.
