The good:
-Gym is large, spacious, with natural lighting. Building is new.
-Excellent facilities and equipment is generally in good condition. Nice pool area. Basketball court and squash courts are a plus to have also.
-Staff do a pretty good job at keeping the change/washrooms clean. Generally also friendly and helpful.
-You can probably negotiate a better rate with these guys than you can with GoodLife (unless you have some sort of special or corporate discount with GoodLIfe)
The poor:
-Would prefer if they extended their hours a little bit
-Place gets really packed in the evenings but thankfully it has never been unmanageable
-They could use some more cardio machines -- the focus at this gym really seems to be on weights
-Member population can be a bit obnoxious at times. Lots of the jock/juicehead-type crowd. Put on some headphones and try to ignore their conversations if you don't want your IQ to drop. Also, nobody really seems to wipe down their machines after making a mess.
-Towel service isn't even offered
-Membership cancellation is a cumbersome process -- need to speak to the manager who is only there Mon-Fri between 9 to 5. Good luck doing that if you work a regular job.
Also I've noticed interestingly that this place seems to have become a Little Persia in terms of the membership demographic. Did not know Bathurst/Rutherford to house that demographic, so that was just surprising.
