I have been to MTO on several occasions and I can honestly so it is a hit and miss. Sometimes the food is good and sometimes it is just ok.
I have read a lot about how good MTO's lemon poppy seed pancakes are and I will say they did not live up to their hype. I could not taste any lemon. They just tasted like plain pancakes (like boring ones without buttermilk) with poppy seeds sprinkled in the batter. The blueberry syrup was good but I could hardly taste the ginger. The pancakes were also really chewy to the point where I could not cut them with the side of my fork and had a difficult time cutting it with the butter knife they gave me. I would not order these again.
My husband had the spicy chicken sandwich and he liked it this time. We have gotten it before and it had little to no flavor (hmm shocker there!). From my experience, the sandwiches are usually good here.
The staff is always friendly. The greet you promptly as you enter the restaurant and are quick to answer any questions and offer suggestions. But be warned, this is not a quick service restaurant though it may look like one. It does take a while to get your food because everything seems to be made to order.
Overall, MTO is a hit or miss restaurant. Don't expect the same quality or flavor everytime you come back. It is a good restaurant to come to if you and your party can't decide on a breakfast or lunch place and happen to be in the area.
