| - I hate reading that anyone had a less-than-stellar experience at Mini North Scottsdale because my experience with their service department couldn't have been more exceptional. It was so good that I think anyone reading this will think I'm telling a fairy tale. In fact, I don't know how they will be able to top even themselves when I go back.
With just under 60K on the odometer my car threw a check engine light. As I had recently put to bed a 193k mini that started with check engine light, I was sick with disappointment that this relatively new car was already giving me grief.
The service department got me in within 30 minutes of calling. Jonathon Bauknecht, my service advisor, sat with me and listened and answered all of my questions. We were having a conversation. He had another customer eager to talk to him, but he didn't let it distract his time with me.
He got me into a fantastic loaner car--a top-of-the-line 2015 Mini Hardtop--for the weekend. When he called on Monday, as promised, he told me the news. A fairly pricey item was bad and needed to be replaced ("Crap! How? Why?") However, even though my car was just out of warranty he was able to get that item replaced for $0. I didn't even have to pay the $135 diagnostic fee, nor the labor. Unbelievable! I asked him to flush my cooling system. He quoted me a price that was competitive to non-dealership garages and told me the car would be ready soon. He left me a message when it was ready (that afternoon as as promised), and told me that the work was less than he had quoted. ("What the...? Less? That never happens!"). Just terrifically unexpected.
I showed up after the service department had closed. I later found out Jonathon had waited for my arrival so he could see me off personally, but I ended up coming later than I said I would. The guy who checked me in discovered that I still needed to pay my bill, but unfortunately nobody was there that could authorize my payment. Sensing it might be an inconvenience to not leave with my car he found someone who okay'd letting me leave without paying. They would send me a payment link the next day via email. This means they trusted me to conclude my business via online payment the next day. Wow!
Jonathon followed up with me the next day suggesting that I keep his mobile phone number handy so if anything came up I could text him or give him a call if I needed it. Then on Friday (four days later) he texted me a personal message to check in on me and the car. Completely exceptional and unexpected.
I have absolutely no reason whatsoever to not recommend the service department at Mini North Scottsdale, and as long as Jonathon Bauknecht is a service advisor I'll want him to be mine. I believe that Mini North Scottsdale service works with integrity, fairness and kindness. I feel like they are my partner for my Mini motoring. I truly hope that your experience will be just as favorable.
