| - This is an update to my last review in which I only talked about the macarons. I noted that the macarons were a bit too sweet and not long after, Fred, the owner of Delysees, reached out to me via Yelp to apologize and invite me back to his store for a small gift.
It's shocking to me that Fred actually takes the time to read every single review that is written here about his shop and even message customers about their experiences. This type of effort really makes you realize that passion that Fred has for his bakery! As a marketer by trade, I think this is truly an exemplary example of superior customer experience.
I visited the shop after work and lo and behold, Fred was there! We discussed his macarons and he offered a box of eclairs for me to try as I didn't get the chance to last time. I love hearing what other people's favourite flavours were and so took home a box of 5 eclairs ($22).
The entire box was devoured that evening and my gosh, my 3 favourite eclairs have got to be the Gianduja Gold, Pistachio, and Coconut. They're not overly sweet and just the right texture and consistency. Definitely recommend you try these!!
Fred was also way too kind and gifted me a box of 10 macarons as well - got to try the creme brulee one and it was yummy! Fred said the lime is a love it or hate it thing but I loved the tangy taste of lemon!
Ok that's it, Fred won me over, I'll definitely be back quite often - I'm sure my sweet tooth was excited to hear that! If you're ever at the store, say hi to Fred! He's such an awesome owner!
