This has to be one of the worst post offices in the entire country. We are going on our fourth day with no mail delivery. None the Saturday prior to the Columbus Day holiday and none the following Tuesday. No notification of why the mail is not being delivered. I called the post office several times today and the phone either rings for 20 times with no pickup or you get a busy signal. I put a check in the community mailbox on Saturday and it is still sitting there four days later, so now I am late on a bill payment. This is not the first time. They just arbitrarily decide not to deliver mail. Even if the carrier is sick or on vacation, other carriers should be placed into overtime to meet the crisis. My wife drives 10 miles to the next post office to avoid this place.
It is true about what the others say about the long lines, angry or no smiles workers. Thank goodness for cell phones, so that you can amuse yourself during the wait in line. The only reason I deal with this place is that it is the closest to my home (4 miles). You should always bring food, water, and survival gear when going to this place to mail anything.
The last time that the carrier failed to deliver the mail for four days I looked at the complaint process with the postal headquarters in Washington, DC. It is so slow and convoluted that they essentially make it difficult to file a complaint and refer you back to the local post office. So, they give you the run around hoping you will quit in frustration.
Well, I am off to spend the day at this sorry post office trying to locate my mail for the last four days. Wish me luck.
