| - I'll own that part of my experience with Hornet was my fault, otherwise I would leave a lower rating. I filled out the online application - which is how you reserve them; there is no in-home estimate - and reserved two trucks and two crews for a full home move. I got an email back confirming my appointment, but then nothing else. With the move date approaching and having heard nothing, I called them to confirm we were still on. They said yes, and I asked to confirm that they understood that this was a whole-home move. They said yes. When their crews arrived, they did so without any packing materials. They informed me that it was my responsibility to have made it clear in the text box in the online application that I needed items packed as well. The movers expressed frustration and had one small package of boxes delivered and then made one run to Lowe's for boxes. We blew through those almost immediately. Two of the workers moaned and groaned almost throughout the entire move and in general there was little - "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, let's try to figure this out." The evening ended with them rushing to unload their last truck (clothes dumped on the floor, several times being asked, "OK, are we good here?" and us having to make multiple runs with our cars up until midnight to get a significant number of remaining items out of our old house in time. I talked to the crew afterward about this and ended up tipping all of them well because they worked hard, but I feel the need to post this here for anyone else who might be expecting a pack and move and have a crew show up just for a move. The online experience and lack of visit/follow-up call (a manager told me afterward they don't do this to save money, which I understand) don't make the pack part of the move clear. Bottom line, our stuff got moved, minimal things were damaged, the price point is great, but the actual move day was pretty miserable.
