  • We picked up some falafel here the other day, and man was the difference in quality from our regular A-B's apparent from first glance... and not in a good way. Much, much smaller, with stingier toppings, than the ones we're accustomed to at the Bloordale location. We both knew right away we'd be needing more to eat, which is a bit frustrating. As for taste, well, sad to report, also inferior. There was a kind of burnt-grill flavour that neither of us liked and suspected comes from a lack of proper cleaning. The falafel themselves were dry and crumbly, while the toppings were -- as said -- stingy, except for an overabundance of coarsely cut white onions. Agh. Talk about breath-death. C'm'ere while I slay you with my onion-gas! It's cheap, so they score points there I guess, but we're rather glad we have the better Ali-Baba's so much closer to home. Can't say we'll be back to this one judging by our first experience. Oh well, can't win 'em all!
