| - We love Bally's.
The first time I stayed here, in 2009 or '10, the Indigo rooms were the newer ones, and Jubilee were the old ones. Then they renovated the Jubilee side and now folks are complaining about the seediness of what was - not so long ago! - the "nice" side. The difficult part of reading online reviews is figuring out the review-writer's expectations, and whether they are similar to yours. I'm not a luxury sort of gal - I've never had that sort of money - so my expectations are for clean and decent, and that's exactly what I get at Bally's.
Rooms and bathrooms are large. There are annoying fees, but that's a Vegas thing. You come to Vegas, you deal with weird things like no coffee maker (they want you to leave the room) and no fridge, and sky high "resort" fees. It's part of the price of doing business. Since I know what to expect in Vegas, no complaints there.
Great experiences with check-in (even though I was directed to a spot by a name that should've been, like, on a sign somewhere so I could figure out where to go without asking three different people), and check out, which can now be done online. Every employee I interacted with was either just fine, or downright pleasant, including the friendly cleaning dude I exchanged "Merry Christmas'" with at 4:00 in the morning.
Our favorite casino game kept dying - it was out of service when we first arrived, to our disappointment (The Big Wheel - look for it! It's fun!). The next time we checked it was working! Then not working. Then working! And it stayed working, as far as I could tell, for the rest of our visit. Oh, we arrived Christmas eve, so even on this day, the repair folk are working their tushes off.
Drink service in the casino is okay. Not great, but perfectly okay. You have a better chance of being offered a drink if you're not on the slots.
Ventilation (poor) in the casino area is the worst thing about this hotel.
The webpage information about the fitness center is confusing. Your resort fee covers admission to the fitness center, which is inside/behind the spa. However, they closed early on Christmas eve, without warning, and we didn't bother checking again, so we didn't get to try it out.
The folks in the room across from ours were super noisy, but we heard them only in the hallway. Once we went inside and closed our door, it was practically silent.
