| - I am genuinely saddened to write this review. Dr. Homewood is a great doctor, he has excellent bedside manner. However, I wish I had something positive to say about his billing staff or front office employees, but I do not. I had gotten a bill for a service I never received, when I tried to dispute it, they said they would correct the matter. My next visit they still had not corrected it, and tried to collect the payment from me, as if they had never had a conversation with me about the bill. This happened 3 times before the issue was resolved. Again I received a bill from 2015 ( a year later) and tried to talk to Shar the billing rep about it, she was rude, not understand and did not try to resolve the matter at all. I worked in billing for 3 years, and I know how difficult it can be, however the way she handled my issue was completely unprofessional. I was told back in 2015 that my first visit would be considered a well visit. Even before I saw the Dr, they did not collect a copay from me because they said it was an "annual well visit" which is covered by my insurance. I saw Dr.Homewood, he was great, we discussed my history since this was my first time with this doctor and office. He then gave me an order for some diagnostic medical imaging. More than a year later, I receive this bill, stating I never paid my copay for my first visit. When I contacted the office and spoke to Shar in billing to explain the situation she just told me "we can't bill that as a well visit since you talked to the doctor about abdominal pain. Once you talk to the doctor about any of your problems it is no longer considered 'well visit'." I informed her that I was told before my appointment that it would be billed as a well visit, and no one told me that I couldn't "talk about any pain I was having". I mean isn't that the point of going to see the doctor?? To talk about your health? And history? I asked Shar, then what is considered a "well visit"? She said, "when they take your blood pressure, temperature, and look in your mouth"( all things I can do at home for free). It is very frustrating when you are told one thing and then not promised this in the end. I am sad that I will no w have to find a new doctor because of rude incompetent billing staff. I give Dr Homewwod five stars but his billing and front office I would have to give a zero.
