  • I must say that the management was great - But...something in those buildings made me sick...my lymph nodes under my chin swelled up to the size of a golf ball and I had hives and other strange rashes and bleeding pussing blisters on my back that stayed for many months...it all started when I moved there but I can't say what exactly it was - could have been mold as those windows leak, could have been chemicals like formaldehyde as the building was brand new when I moved in...I had numerous episodes of anaphylaxis and asthma attacks in addition to hives and angioedema (swelling of the face, hands and/or feet/legs.) Sometimes my eyes were swelled shut. I was seeing an allergist once per week. He wrote me a letter once we suspected sick building syndrome, which got me out of my lease. The staff did whatever they could and did transfer me to four diff apartments - i did a little better but then in that other building the water coming thru the water heater smelled like mold/mildew really strong. I asked them to drain the water heater and put in a portion of hydrogen peroxide to kill whatever was in there because whenever I had a shower in hot water I would have an asthma attack. After they drained the water heater and treated the new water, the water smell was gone! Only it came back 4 days later :-( ...I called my mold specialist who i have hired in the past and he told me that this property had hired him to explore a resident issue but he said he could not give me any details - so they had hired him in the past and so had I. I have a feeling he knew what was going on but couldn't say. I deferred the air samples for mold and decided to just get out with the doctor letter. I do also have allergies to AZ plants, dust, whatever, but have never been that sick until I moved to these apartments...but they are so pretty and I did love the apartment homes and the staff is great. They did let me out of my lease with the letter from the allergist, and I chose to leave Arizona as well...LOL! I moved to Dallas and have been very healthy and happy & glad I made the move. :-)
