| - DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A RESPECTED GUEST
I stayed here for 3 nights during my days off from traveling. I was looking forward to my weekend, and this hotel rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning. The Indian owners have ZERO CLUE what hospitality means or what it means to treat their GUESTS to a pleasant experience while they are in this hotel.
Firstly, I wasn't greeted at check-in the man behind the desk seemed irritated with his job. I requested a room on the highest floor and he informed me that he "CAN NOT CHANGE A PREASSIGNED ROOM." Mind you, I worked in hospitality for 8 years, and I know damn well this simply isn't true. He was being exceptionally lazy, and simply did not want to put for any more than the MINIMAL EFFORT. He then informed me that all of the rooms on the 3rd floor were smoking rooms (This was also a lie).
I asked if he was ever going to welcome me to the hotel or thank me for staying there and he asked, "Why should I?" Yup, true story.
So, I accepted the room on the 2nd floor, which was ("right next to [his] room"), and when I stepped in I immediately noticed that this "suite" did not contain a refrigerator and a microwave like I was promised when I called to confirm my reservation 3 days prior. I returned to the front desk and requested a room with the amenities that I had confirmed, and the same rude man (Mind you, they don't wear name tags and this is obviously a family operation, so I have NO IDEA who he is) told me that only "select rooms have a refrigerator in them," Really?! Then SELECT one that contains the options!
Instead, he called the "manager" to resolve the issue, and after speaking to him in Hindi for several minutes he informed me that the manager was "Not coming down to resolve my issue, " and that I was have to pay an extra $30/night to receive a room with the refrigerator. When I told him that this was unacceptable he told me that I would have to "contact my travel agent to change anything" and that there was "nothing [he] could (or WOULD) do."
The man waiting behind me at the counter also encountered a problem with his reservation, and he asked, "Do you have problems with EVERY guest who stays here?!" Now, that's a legitimate question!
After spending about 30 minutes on the telephone trying to reach Priceline (the company through whom I had booked this atrocious reservation), I was unsuccessful at reaching any form of a human being. The "manager" then comes down and says, "Excuse me lady" (not calling me by name), "We have a room for you."
Wow! Magically the heavens opened and they are able to accommodate my meager request? Hmm! So, I was assigned a room on the 3rd floor which was NOT a smoking room (None of the rooms on this floor are actually smoking rooms, so the man was just lying to me).
This teeny TINY room at least had a refrigerator and a microwave, but my mood was soured for the entire duration of the trip.
The "breakfast" was pathetic to say the least and not hardly worth waking up to consume. They certainly do not replinish items as they depleted.
Bottom line: spend your hard earned money with businesses who appreciate you as a customer
