This bakery is quite a great stop for anyone who loves a wonderful made snack that is more focused on good flavour. The service here is so pleasant and both cookies we tried were really good. We wanted to try more but we had to run quickly to dinner but more than happy to come back here!
Just down a little bit of stairs, you'll walk into a room and see the whole bakery and counter where it houses all the great treats. There are other good things being sold here.. pickled vegetables, oils, lots of rustic bread, and espresso based drink too. The person behind the counter was ready to give tips on which was more popular or which baked good would probably satisfy my particular sweet tooth. The bakery is not made for lounging around for any long time ... there's only a few seats in the middle and a few around the ledges.
We ended up grabbing a cannoli and a pistachio lemon amaretti. We've been in love with cannoli since trying a really good one at L'unita. Since then we've been trying to chase the best one. Forno Cultura is a good one... super flakey and beautifully crisp pastry. The filling is light and whipped with a light citrus note. What overshadowed the cannoli was the pistachoi amaretti. It was a perfect chewy bite that had a gorgeous nutty note with a citrus hint at the end. Honestly... perfect.
Overall, a great bakery with some amazing items to buy.. i'll definitely be coming back to try the other many treats which is numerous!
