| - BE CAREFUL. AVOID NO MATTER WHAT....
I had a terrible experience with this company. The check out/in process is how they get you.. You think you can save $ by renting from them instead of dealing with reputable companies, but you will find yourself screwed and ripped off at the end... The experience I had was in a nutshell:
1- dirty car
2- terrible, rude and non empathetic customer service
3- INSURANCE SCAM and this is the most important point. If the car has scrtaches, they will tell you during the check out process not to worry about it.. When you return the car, they will claim you caused the damages even though you asked them to mark them down... You will then have to deal with the headache and the EXPENSES associated with the alleged damages..
My experience is below:
I rented a car via Expedia from this location in August 2017. I have rented cars for 20 years from reputable companies including Discount, Enterprise, Avis, Budget and I never had such terrible service.
This is how the story started. The car I was given was a Honda Civic. The car was dirty from inside and outside. Never vacuumed after the previous customer. Bugs all over the body. There was even garbage in the car. I didn't make a big deal of that. Throughout the check out process, I indicated to the agent of scratches in many areas on the car body. He kept telling me don't worry, it is dirt, it is bugs, etc etc. He marked very few spots after my insistence. When he went back to the office, I saw an additional scratch in the front bumper, I went back to the office and talked to another agent. He was the manager or the owner.. In fact, I believe he is the one who runs this scam.. He disregarded my concerns and told me if it is NOT damage, don't worry about it. I am used to such response when renting cars from reputable companies... So, I put my confidence in him and I left.
When I returned the car, the same agent whom I raised the scratches concern with was the one in charge of closing the file. As he walked around the car, he right away spotted the same scratch I originally tried to tell him about when I took the car. It was as if he knew about it. He then told me that there is a scratch that is not in the check out report. I tried to remind him of what happened when I took the car but he wouldn't listen. He kept repeating that he has to open a claim, me having to sign it and etc. An argument got erupted and I refused to sign any papers. He then refused I take the shuttle bus back the airport... Arguing with him was going nowhere. He then yelled at my friend who was using her phone telling her to stop recording even though she wasn't. He then pulled the paper he was trying to push me to sign and refused to talk after that. I had to take an UBER so that I can catch my flight.
After spending almost 90 mins with expedia over the phone, they told me that the rental agency is not closing my file and therefore consider me still renting the car unless I sign the papers... After I gave up on Expedia, I ended up signing the papers and opening the claim with the insurance company... I tried contacting their head office but they ignored my email.. I just received a thank you email. These scratches (really minor which I believe was there from before) ended up costing the insurance company $800 and costing me $150.
SO, AVOID THIS COMPANY.
