| - My new favorite breakfast spot. No joke, it literally blows all others that even attempt to serve breakfast out of the water. The best part is, I don't have to wait forever to get a table like those dumb suckers that wait for an hour at Babycakes for crappy food. Every time I have been there, on a weekend, I have always gotten a table very quickly.
The reason why I love this spot is that they have totally focused only on breakfast, and with a carefully crafted menu, in executing it flawlessly. You can tell with every dish, that much thought went into how to prepare it. And the waitresses in pajamas, how awesome is that? I really appreciate the love that went into this place, so much that I want to give the owner a hug.
The first time we went, my husband ordered the steak and eggs. While this is not kobe beef steak, it is cooked extraordinarily well, especially for a breakfast joint. The steak is juicy and flavorful and contrasts perfectly with the eggs. He has also ordered the chicken fried steak and while that was extremely heavy, he loved it and said it was the best he's had since he was a kid in Montana, where apparently that type of dish is extremely common.
I have tried the chicken and waffles and a veggie omelet. The chicken, just like the steak, was cooked perfectly. And even more impressive than the steak, they managed to keep the chicken completely juicy, warm, and flavorful. But the waffles were even better. They were completely soft and almost pancake-like, and extremely fluffy. I normally don't like waffles because they tend to be so heavy, but they managed to capture the flavor of waffles in a way that did not make me want to sleep for the next 10 days. They also were topped with a cinnamon maple syrup which was totally memorable.
So if you are looking for the best breakfast in Las Vegas, look no further than Rise & Shine. They may not be open the entire day, and their menu may be limited in scope, but what they do they do extremely well, and every time I go I am even more impressed with their consistent quality of food and service.
