| - Honestly, I have never been disrespected by an establishment in my life. And I don't write on Yelp often, but this particular experience warranted a review.
--Pardon the length. I tried to make this easy to read. Bear with me.
I've been to Martinee Nails a handful times this year. I live within walking distance close to the nail salon. Each experience to up until this point has been neither amazing nor horrific, but today I'll say that I will not be returning ever again to receive ANY services.
I walk-in the door and as the nail tech is cashing out another woman, she asks what service I'd be receiving today. (& I'm putting it nicely) No Hello or Greeting--Fine. As I tell her I'd like to get a full set, she directs me to a seat while I'm picking out a nail color. As she's finishing with another client, another nail tech tells me to sit elsewhere...I ask to clarify, yet she tells me again. When my nail tech comes she tells me to move to her. Fine.
I had an idea of what I wanted my nails to look like and brought a picture on my phone to show her. She tells me off the bat it would cost $30. ( I wanted mid length ballerina shape nails). I asked out of pure curiosity of why the price increased from the window advertised $23 to $30, she replied that it was an additional $2 for a tip (what??) and $5 more dollars for length and shape. [Mind you: I've been there prior and gotten the same exact length for $23 dollars no gel and they didn't charge for a nail tip...I've never been charged for a nail tip at any salon I've been to].
I say nothing else and allow her to continue.
The male owner of the shop, who has done my gel set 2x before comes over and says hello to me and asks me what I'm getting. To what I reply a full set. He asks, "No gel?" And the nail tech says, "too much. Can't afford."
LOL. I beg for her to repeat because I could have sworn I heard incorrectly.
But no, she replied and indeed said again "Can't afford".
I responded to her, "No, I actually just want a basic acrylic this time."
Hindsight says I should have left & paid for the two tips already glued on my nails right then and there, but no, I sat.
She then spoke to the male owner in her native tongue and immediately swapped places. I restated that I wanted mid length ballerina shaped nails and he told me that it would be instead $35 dollars instead of $30. Also mentions that, if he wanted, he could charge whatever price he felt was appropriate. LOL
Okay.
I still sat and let him finish my nails as I was crushed for time and desperately needed them done. He was rough with my hands, even hit them with his nail file because my "hands need to relax". At that point I told him not to ever touch my hands like that. He then switched with my initial nail tech and she painted my nails.

Bottom line,
1. Don't come here and spend your hard earned money on people that will not appreciate it, and disrespect you. No matter what price, she should have never said that to me or ANYONE ELSE.
2. Find more pleasant and PROFESSIONAL people who care about their clients and business. Customer service is everything.
3. Don't come here.
