  • I recently visited Alson's with my boyfriend with the intent of examining diamonds and engagement rings. We started our engagement ring shopping at Alson's because I remember the excellent service from them 10 years ago when my friend purchased his now wife's beautiful 2 ct engagement ring and wedding band from Alson's. However, during our visit this time, when we walked in, all sales assistants were busy. We headed to the diamond ring area and waited before having to find a sales assistant ourselves. The sales assistant seemed distracted and in a rush. I told her we would like to see a few different sizes, cuts and colors of rounds to compare. All she told me was that 'differences in color are not perceptible to the untrained eye'. I also asked to see some cushions and three stone rings- she just pointed to one third of the large store and said, "you can have a look- they'd be in this area". I won't be returning to Alson's for my ring.
