| - Angelo's has been a staple in Bloomfield for decades. It's not an accident that it's still doing well. Their pizza is some of the best in the city. The crust is that great combination of crunchy/chewy. As other reviewers said, they give you an ample portion of cheese on the pie, and it's high quality cheese that's ooey gooey--I mean that in the best possible way! :) Their sauce is also very good, and it tastes homemade. It's very simple: tomatoes with some herbs combined to make the sauce.
The place is very basic: a handful of tables, a counter where you order, the menu displayed above and behind the counter. There's a TV mounted to the wall, usually turned to channel 11. They have fountain drinks if you want to eat your pizza there.
The people there are nice and friendly. For the quality of the pizza, it is an excellent value, and better tasting than any chain pizza.
I have not had their sandwiches, just stuck to the pizza. But people that I've gone with have ordered sandwiches (the italian and the cheese steak) and said they were really good.
If you live on the east end and don't feel like eating there or picking it up, they do deliver. But they're a popular spot, especially on game nights and weekends. The person taking orders on the phone will usually tell you if it's an unusually long wait.
Give it a try--you won't be unhappy!
