| - I'm kindly choosing to give this company a two star rating for my move simply due to the hard nature of the physical work required of the actual movers. With that, this rating is more of a reflection of Ann (for her lack of follow up follow through, and poor judgment).
A little backstory, I decided to go with this company for a considerably sized move based on the ratings on Yelp, and the owner of this company was a client of mine. I was even personally invited by the owners wife to watch her sing at one of the pavilions in town years ago. I've seen this company only grow in size over the years, and the owner has always taken pride in his company and the work they do.
Once we decided to use them, we had Mike come out for a visual walk through to get a firmer quote--which after taking place, we got an email from Ann with the details that included 5-7 hours, three men, one truck two trips.
When the movers arrived at our home, the first thing the lead mentioned was that we were misquoted--our job required four men and two trucks because of the magnitude of the move. Initially I already knew we were going to be over budget because of that, but didn't rush the guys at all because I wanted quality work done. I even bought them lunch in addition to tipping them when it was all over.
At the 7th hour I called Ann to let her know what was going on and what was said (seeing as though we were never given another option for more manpower), and her response to me was: "I didn't offer that as an option, because we didn't have the crew available for the date you needed..." I explained to her my move date was flexible and had she offered that to me I would have taken it because I could have saved hundreds of dollars. She said she'd speak to the owner and would follow up with me to see if there's anything that could be done, I told her I didn't want compensation at that point--it's a matter of principle and feedback for her as a professional.
The guys worked hard, but they definitely grew tired towards the end. So many things were left behind in my old home that I had to move myself, and so many items in my new house were just placed in miscellaneous areas of the home.
I would not recommend nor use this company again, not because of lack of quality, but certainly because of Ann's failed due diligence as a business person representing the company. Some people aren't in a position to pay hundreds of dollars unexpectedly--understandably a quote can vary and this was obviously known and disclosed, but it was unnecessary to vary as much as it did--we were not provided nor offered the manpower we actually required for our move and it's Ann's fault.
