  • I decided to go to FCLV from hearing the ads on the radio. I attended one of their free seminars and after researching Dr. Shapiro and his success rates, we decided to go with them to find out why we weren't getting pregnant. I will admit, yes, at times the front desk staff was a little unorganized and at times, one of the girls even came off rude and un personable (she has since changed and is much nicer now) but I don't think that I have ever been to ANY doctors office that I could write a stellar review for the front desk staff so it's not like I ever expect much, though most of the time they were very nice and helpful and the more you go and they get to know you and you them....everyone is friendlier. Dr. Shapiro was great...I would recommend him to anyone. All of the nurses and staff were great (one ultrasound tech was all business and not very personable but she wasn't rude or mean and one of the phlebotinist couldn't draw blood from me or a friend of mine to save her life...but she was super nice!) and the plhebotinist Dove was amazing! If you can...request her, especially if you aren't a big fan of needles...she is great and Rachel at the Green Valley location was great too! I had 2 failed IUIs...My insurance would have covered 2 more...Dr. Shapiro could have let me keep going but he said that my odds were slim and he told me reasons why. So we decided to try IVF. He is very thorough. Everything was well monitored and any questions I had were answered. We took out a 2 yr loan and got a great interest rate (I did my own research and found a company that does loans for fertility treatments and works with FCLV). Yes...you will feel nickel and dimed ....but that will happen anywhere (read reviews for ANY fertility center and that is the biggest complaint) but again...it's all laid out in the paperwork...read what they give you and you won't have any surprises. The co-pays add up...and if your insurance sucks, then expect to pay a lot of extra bills. Just do your homework. There are options out there...and if you can't afford IVF then don't do it. The FCLV will work with you even if your budget is tight. Long story short after 5 years of trying and doing Clomid with my OB twice with no luck, 2 Failed IUIs...I got pregnant with fraternal boy/girl twins on my first round of IVF with Dr. Shapiro. 2 healthy babies...no NICU...they are perfect. I also had a friend who did IVF with Dr. D and she loved him and also got pregnant. They are 2 of the best doctors with high success rates. There is a reason there is always a long wait. It's annoying and it sucks but I don't mind if I know the doctor is worth it. Once you start IVF..things are easier at the office...you get your own caseworker to deal with so it's not so crazy. I highly recommend Dr. Shapiro and the FCLV... They gave me 2 precious gifts that Icould never thank them enough for. Just know what you are getting into...do your research!!
