| - It's a nice high-end salon offering a bright, clean atmosphere and complementary water, tea, wine even if you'd like.
Tanya, the manager, cares about her clients' satisfaction evidenced by her interaction with myself as a client both on-site and messaging with me.
Laverne, my stylist, was very professional and performed good consultations and she, too, messaged me if I expressed dissatisfaction. Consistency with whether or not I loved the outcome of a color/cut/style was not always the level I wanted so communication between us was not 100 percent on target. I realize there will be some hit and misses. It's to be expected over time.
As is normal practice with higher-end salons, someone else will do the shampoo, someone in a pool of shampooers so you don't know who will be doing yours on any given visit. I've discovered I'm not a fan of this practice. What if the particular shampooer that day doesn't want to be at work, is in a bad mood, whatever. They and I don't have an on-going relationship so there seems to be no need for them to do a great job each and every time. On several occasions, I found them to be quite rough with my head in the process and, at least once, mentioned that to them. My point is that the experience at the sink counts towards my total experience, too.
I think I just finally decided I wasn't at least 95 percent happy most of the time and, for the distance travelled, the price point, and time expended, I wanted to be consistently more satisfied. Whether it was me or them or just communication, I don't know.
I do like this salon, would recommend it and Laverne as a stylist, but have decided to go elsewhere at this time.
