| - This South Scottsdale Aquatic center is a great spot hang with the kiddos during the summer. There are a lot of swim classes offered through the city for ALL abilities from sunrise to sunset. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. The swim coaches all seem to enjoy what they are doing and are encouraging to all students. The layout of the swimming pool is designed well enough to allow multiple classes going at once without any class interrupting the next. During the time I take my toddler (early evening), several high school aged kids, and some adults, swim laps at the far south side. When the EAC has open swim, there is a safe zero-depth water splash zone for the Tots, a water playground for big kids, an two crazy looking water slides for even bigger kids or the young at heart, and diving boards. There is an entrance fee. If tanning is you jam, there are two large areas of grassy space to comfortably lay your towel down to receive an abundance of hot Arizona sun rays. Those that have more delicate skin can enjoy space under several heavy duty, bluen umbrellas with an extra large shade circumference. For those of you that aren't crazy about swimming, tanning, or outdoor life, there is an indoor fitness center just right off the pool area on the North side. The only thing that needs improvement are the locker rooms. I can only comment in the Women's locker room for obvious reasons. The space is very narrow and small. When the high schools swim team is in there with all their gear, it's too cramped to pass through. The shower stalls are private, but there is only a few of them and we are never able to rinse off after class. This wouldn't work for me, but it's not an issue for my toddler. Check out this place and you won't be disappointed.
