| - First of all, you must understand that all Toyota service managers are paid on a commission basis. The more services they sell you, the more money they make. ( The most egregious example of this is a service guy at Camelback Toyota who told me I needed new tires. He was pretty embarrassed when I pointed out that the tires I had on the car had only 2000 miles on them.)
Took my car in to Right for some minor brake work which was done properly. While there the Service manager told me I also needed to have the power steering system flushed, for $100, and The EFI ( fuel system) serviced for $200. Both really needed to be done, I was told. I passed on both. Look up EFI service on Google, and you'll see that it is never ever necessary and is described as a method to "transfer money from the customer to the dealer". The same is true of a power steering flush. I called the manufacturer and they confirmed that neither services is ever needed or required and would only be done if either system was completely replaced.
And here are some suggestions on buying a car from these people. We have bought four Toyotas in the last 10 years. First, always deal with the Internet or fleet people. They are always cheaper, often by several thousand dollars, than the regular sales people. And for the four Toyotas we bought (Camry, 4Runner, Highlander, Avalon), We started at Right Toyota,, negotiated the best deal we could, and then went to Camelback. In every instance, we ended up buying from Camelback who was significantly cheaper.
