  • DID NOT ENJOY MY EXPERIENCE HER AT ALL. It was singularly the worst hi-fi store experience I've ever had. Bordering on abusive. I and several people I've communicated with have had bad experiences with the older owner here and left after the first interaction -- never to return. There seem to be an older father and one or two son's that work here. My main interaction was with the older (father?) but one of his sons (I think?) were very rude as well. The old guy says he is very "passionate" but it comes across as: 1) Everything you have that you did not buy from them is junk. 2) Your experience or opinions don't matter -- only theirs. (to an extreme) 3) You are correct about nothing (even your own tastes are not respected) -- they are 100% correct because they've been doing this for years. 4) Everything he sells is gold. 5) JBL is the best of the best of the best. JBL JBL. This guy is a JBL fan-boy extreme! (But they wouldn't let me listen to any JBL (which is why I went there in the first place!) ) 6) If you listen to the old guy, he will spew many contradictory and/or absolutist statements that stretch credulity. If you challenge him on any point of basic logic you'll find it will get very weird, very fast. If you have any opinion that differs from theirs, you might find yourself, like I did, in the Twilight Zone really quickly. They acted like bullies who don't want or need any new business. Someone in an online forum described them as "blue-collar" trying to sell 'high end'. They have been in business for a long time, but they don't seem to want new customers. I went in to see if I could listen to some high-end JBL loudspeakers. They had some on display but would not hook them up. They said "BY APPOINTMENT ONLY". I asked what high-end JBL's they have to listen to and what sources? They said: "THAT'S CONFIDENTIAL". When I was shocked by this, the son looked to his father and asked him "SHOULD WE RELEASE THE HOUNDS?". I suggest the old guy retire and/or never interact with new customers again. It is hurting their business. Possibly they don't care since they have a large clientelle built over 40 years and don't need new business. If you do go in, be prepared for a very 'unique' experience. Singularly horrible experience!
